No filters are used to produce these images and are completely hand drawn. The process varies for a Custom Portrait and a purchase of a pre-existing Product from a series.

Custom Portrait:

When you order for a Custom Portrait, we check for the brief and the quality of the images. If we are unclear on the brief or the images do not meet the requirements, we will be in touch with you to discuss options. Once resolved, we commence the illustration and orgainse for a custom print once completed and get the print self embossed with our 50mm seal of originality. This process takes around 8-10 business days and then dispatched. Delivery would depend on where in the world you live. Australian shipments usually take around 3-7 business days depending on your location within Australia and 7- 14 days from the time of dispatch, depending on the international destination. We try our best to get this to you as quickly as possible but please consider the unprecedented delays in shipments due to COVID-19, especially on international orders.

Yes, of course there is room for discussion prior to the work commencing. So please do let us know in the brief that would like to discuss the outcome prior to starting the illustration.

Purchase a Custom Illustration and upload your image at Checkout and we will be in touch with you if there is any issue. We usually can use some images that are quite small and have done so in the past, but the better the resolution and clarity in the image, the better the illustration.

You can request a colour illustration and yes, it does cost more. The cost will need to be estimated based on the image and the hours required to develop the drawing. We love a challenge so please feel free to send it through.

The prints are sent via Australia Post using Rigid mailers for A3 and A4 prints and Postal tubes for prints larger than A3 to avoid any damage to the prints.

We believe in a quality product and the printed piece coming to you needs to be as good as the illustration itself. All prints are printed on premium white 160gsm imported paper unless it is specified on the product page.

The Seal of Authenticity is the artists’ way of approving the print just as the signature approves the illustration.

All our prints are self embossed with the ‘Seal of Authenticity’, stating that it is a ‘Certified Original Print’ from Chris Rodrigues Illustrations. It is a 50mm self embossed, circular impression made on the print to show authenticity of the print and that is is a ‘True Original’ from Chris Rodrigues Illustrations.

Being only 50mm in diameter and ‘self embossed’, it is almost invisible on the print from a distance, or in a frame on the wall, but if you’re up-close or holding the print in your hand, you may be able to read its description.

At this stage, we don’t provide any frames with the prints because of the plethora of options available for frames and they’re so subjective and dependent on the interior decor of the residence itself, but this could change in the future.

There are exceptions to the rule, so please do let us know and we can either accommodate or decline. We have had a situation of an overseas client wanting to gift someone in Australia an illustration, and in that case we delivered a framed image to the them but the same option would be way more expensive if reversed.

It’s less expensive to send a print locally or overseas than a framed image.

Our initial recommendation for framing would be to have some white space around the image before the frame edge called the ‘mat’…approx 1/12 inches. Especially for the black and white prints.
